We'll Do The Driving and Pay For The Gas!

A special note to our friends on the Havasupai Indian Reservation and their guests: The rains of Aug. 16th brought a flash flood to Havasu Creek. Many campers and river runners lost their gear and valuables. While nature brings us the beauty of The Grand Canyon and the Havasupai their homeland, she also occasionally brings with it the unexpected that only she can control. While we are sad that many people's lives were effected by this event, we are pleased that no lives were lost. Nature always reminds us that life is the most precious of all things, the artifacts and items lost can be recoverd.

So too will our friends, the Havasupai people recover. The hiking trails will be restored, bridges rebuilt, and the Village and Campground will reopen. As we at the Walking Connection personally experienced during our visit to Thailand after the Tsunami, the proud Tribe will rebuild what nature has undone, reopen their businesses and schools and its people will get on with their lives. When the time is right for them, they will once again open their arms to outside visitors like The Walking Connection.

As we did in Thailand, we will support their rebuilding and business endeavors by keeping our reservations in place. We will reconfirm them as our 2009 seasons begins and nature willing. move forward with our trips as planned.

YOUR VACATION RESERVATION: If you would like to join us on our Havasupai Adventure in 2009, please make your reservation as planned. If for any reason we are unable to conduct the trip for any reason, we will notify you and refund your money 100%. Rest assured that The Walking Connection has operated since 1989 without a significant safety incident. Our adventures are exciting, fun and above all, safe!

Each year millions of people travel to Arizona to see the crown jewel of the American landscape - The Grand Canyon, and though seeing is believing, you can do much more than look! You can experience it on a personal level, up close, one step at at time!

Let our seasoned Grand Canyon expert guides lead you on the adventure of a lifetime to The South Rim of Grand Canyon. Whether you choose to hike the Rim Trail for the fanstastic views or challenge yourself with an in-canyon hike on The South Kaibab Trail or Bright Angel Trail, or even do a little of both, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is the Crown Jewel of the American Landscape.

Or, close your eyes and envision the magic of running water. It's made even more magical because it exists in the desert. Put the water in a canyon. Make that the Grandest of Canyons. Color the water turquoise blue, reflecting the cloudless sky. Now pour it over cliffs almost 200' high, at the rate of more than a million gallons per hour.

Do these words adequately convey the pull exerted by Havasu Creek? No words can!

This is Havasu Canyon in The Grand Canyon at The Havasupai Indian Reservation.
